As a first post here on Enjoy Minded I thought it's most appropriate to write about some places where people can create hangouts using the platform. I've chosen Putney because I've spent the last 6 years here, it's my favourite neighbourhood in London and the place where some of the first Enjoy Minded hangouts are going to be held at.
Let's start from Putney Bridge. The view there is amazing especially during sunset and there are quite a lot of nice pubs around the river where you can enjoy the nice atmosphere while having a beer and a burger.
Quite close to Putney Bridge tube station is The Boathouse, which is located right next to the Thames river. It's one of my favourite places to enjoy the sunset on a Friday evening with a cold beer. The top floor is a restaurant which has a balcony and the view from there is really amazing. If you're on a budget there's a Wetherspoon pub (The Rocket) right next to The Boathouse. The Rocket is located in a remodelled 1960s riverside office block and also has an amazing view.
I'll skip some of the other places around the river here and cover them in a followup post. Moving on from Putney Bridge towards the high street there's Coat & Badge and The Jolly Gardeners. Coat & Badge is a classic English pub with an extremely nice and large beer garden, nice selection of beers and really, really good burgers and you can also enjoy live music every Sunday. One of the best things there is the outdoor TVs during the summer, it's the perfect place to enjoy watching sports with friends with a nice cold beer. The only downside is that Coat & Badge can get really crowded sometimes, but if you're looking for something more quiet when there is a football game on - only two minutes away down the street you can go to The Jolly Gardeners, which is a bit quieter and also has a very nice garden, good food and nice selection of beers.
There are many good places down the high street as well, but our next stop will be Lost & Co. It's located just across the street from Putney railway station and brings a touch of Shoreditch to Putney with it's vibrant and interesting interior. They have a good selection of beers including some of my favourites - Paulaner and 1936, also they have really nice food. If you like thin and crispy pizza crust you'll definitely like Lost & Co and if you like meat then you can't go wrong with the Predator there. They also have two for one pizzas on Tuesdays and a challenge on Mondays - if you eat their really hot pizza for under 10 minutes you don't have to pay for it - I failed miserably, but a friend of mine managed to finish it once.
I'm looking forward to see you in the upcoming hangouts on Enjoy Minded in some of those places and hope you enjoyed reading the post!
Well done! Very informative and we're looking forward to the next one.
